Most university internships only require 20-40 hours of work total. They expect students to do this work throughout a semester (18 weeks). As you can see that is 1-2 hours a week. College students have a pretty large load with classes, homework, outside assignments and often a job too. An internship adds a second unpaid job to their busy schedule. I suggest that you not expect a college student to be able to contribute more than 20 hours per month if it is unpaid. But I do like the idea of allowing the student to come up with a podcast of their own and adding it to your network. You might also encourage them to sell advertising (for that podcast) that fits in with the GSPN brand as well. Broadcasters of today need to be able to do it all. Finally, most students will only be willing to intern for a semester unless there is some compelling reason for them to stay. A successful podcast with a growing community might be that reason. But, even if you do have to turn them over every 18 weeks or so, you could also create an alumni group of former interns who can help you pick out promising up and coming young broadcasters.
