Hi gspn.tv Fans! This is Carole from the Community here again bringing you the Weekly Round Up. Of special note this week is the Full Time Mom episode “Is Sarah Taboo?”. It seems that since Sarah left, people are wondering if Stephanie and Sarah see each other anymore, if it’s ok to ask about Sarah, and is Stephanie willing to give us updates on how Sarah is doing? You’ll have to tune in to hear Stephanie’s thoughts. Also in that episode, Stephanie relates a story about a couple who phoned Stephanie and Cliff from their hotel bed on their anniversary! Don’t worry – it’s a sweet story. (This is a Plus Member only episode – if you’re not currently a Plus Member, won’t you consider it? All the details are here.)

Right now, here’s what rolled out on the GSPN feed in the last week – go get ‘em while they’re hot:

+ denotes podcast released for Plus Members only

In this episode of the Virtual Assistant Podcast, Cliff is excited to have Jason VanOrden of InternetBusinessMastery.com join him to share some of his experience with using virtual assistants in his own internet based business. This episode is part 1 of 2 of their conversation. Learn what type of work Jason has delegated to virtual assistants and how he found that help.

Some of Cliff’s notes from this first portion of the conversation include:
* Elance.com
* oDesk.com
* GetReplaceMyself.com
* BestJobs.ph

One thing is for certain. You definitely want to tune in next week for the conclusion of this conversation. During the second half of their call, the conversation got into some pretty deep topics that were very helpful to Cliff as he is at a crossroads in his own business journey.

This is probably one of the best episodes of Family From The Heart that has been recorded to date. Cliff and Stephanie received an email from a listener who has been struggling with supporting her husband in his hobby of cycling. Have a listen to the episode, hear the question and the responses that Cliff and Stephanie share, and feel free to call in your own thoughts and comments on their voice mail feedback hotline.
In this episode, Chris called to ask what he should do about his iTunes subscribers since he is in a place where he needs to change the host for his .mp3 files.

Pete called in to ask about how to get to the top of the iTunes Rankings and how to maintain your place at the top. Pete also mentioned that he had some great success in getting his show syndicated on radio shows. Cliff emailed Pete to see if he could get some more details on how he was able to pull this off. Of course Cliff shares his response here.

Andy called in to let us know that you can change your iTunes Store location to another country to see reviews that others around the world have left for you, and how to do it.

Finally, Cliff shares some of his thoughts on the WordPress Vs Thesis debate over the GPL license. Also, in this episode, Cliff shares several ideas on how you can involve your Virtual Assistant in services that are offered directly to your clients to bring additional value to what you offer. These articles were taken from the e-course titled “Delegate Effectively In 21 Days” which you can get for free, from our sponsor’s website at ContemporaryVA.com.

So, fellow gspn.tv listeners, I think all this mention of Old Spice is ironic because if you live in the U.S. you have probably been using plenty of deodorant the last few weeks – we have been having a relentless heatwave in many parts of the country. I’ll say one thing – when my husband comes in later from doing yardwork in the hot sun, I can only PRAY he will smell like the Old Spice Guy…the man your man could smell like! LOL!

Hi gspn.tv Fans! This is Carole from the Community here back again bringing you the Weekly Round Up. Don’t know if anyone missed me last week, but I was away on vacation without reliable internet access, so I hope you went and looked to see what podcasts were released last week on your own. We took our vacation in the Berkshire mountains area, in Massachusetts. We didn’t do a lot other than geocaching and visiting the Clark Art Museum. We spent a lot of our time just relaxing, doing crossword puzzles, swimming in the pool, and we even did a 1,000 piece puzzle. So, speaking of vacation, of special note this week is the Family From the Heart podcast episode “Vacation From the Heart”. Take a listen to what the Ravescrafts did for THEIR vacation in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee! Also, they mention a very interesting bedding product for married couples – you’ll have to listen to find out what it is. Hopefully it’s not something you need, LOL! :-)

Right now, here’s what rolled out on the GSPN feed in the last week – go get ‘em while they’re hot:

In this episode, Cliff shares some recent tasks that he’s given Andrea, his own personal VA, to do for him. These tasks include researching details on refinancing his home mortgage, handling the details of a back-ordered item for one of his customers, and following up with existing clients to generate more consulting calls for Cliff’s weekly schedule.

Also in this episode, Cliff has the honor of speaking with Holly Kile (@hjkile on Twitter) about her experiences of being a virtual assistant. Cliff loved the inspiration that she gave him in the area of having his virtual assistant help him create e-books for his business.

Cliff also read a couple of great articles that help to explain the cost effectiveness of delegating even small tasks, and determining which tasks to delegate.

Special thanks to Contemporary VA for sponsoring this podcast. Please call TODAY with your questions on our voicemail hotline at 859-795-4067. Or use your voice memo application on your iPhone to record feedback or questions. Simply email it to feedback@gspn.tv.

Biggest Loser 034 – Going to the Gym

In this episode, Cliff and Father Roderick talk about the ideas of joining a team sport or getting a membership to a local gym. These two conversations were prompted by Cliff listening to episode 40 of Fr. Roderick’s Healthy Catholic Podcast.

Also, in this episode, Cliff shares some thoughts about the effects of a three day vacation and returning back to work.
If there was ever an episode that Cliff was a little self conscious about releasing, it would be this episode of Podcast Answer Man. He’s not sure how many times he confessed that he’s an audio snob, but it was a lot. Please know that when Cliff shares his thoughts in his podcasts, Cliff shares the real Cliff and his own thoughts and opinions. He has a strong desire to see people take their podcasts to the next level when it comes to content, quality, and engagement with their audience. Cliff asks you to please forgive him for being the audio snob that he is.

In this episode, Cliff covers the following topics:
* How do I change the category for my podcast in iTunes?
* How does Cliff feel about accepting payments via PayPal?
* How does Cliff feel about Blog Talk Radio and other services like it?
* Be sure to check out the Adobe Audition 101 on the Products Page.

Be sure to tune in next week when Cliff shares some constructive criticism that he has received about this podcast.

Cliff and DG are at it again in this episode. Of course, this time, DG completely steals the thunder from Cliff’s argument about something that DG shared about the United Methodist Church. If you want to get the book they discussed at the end of this episode, it is called The Epic of Eden “A Christian Entry into the Old Testament.”

In this episode, Andy shares his thoughts on a hotel’s use of social media, specifically twitter. Cliff and Andy take a call from someone who asked if Twitter is a service that every business could benefit from.

Andy’s tech byte of the week is Instapaper

So, those lucky ducks Cliff and Stephanie got to see the third movie in the Twilight Saga “Eclipse” a SECOND time on their vacation (you can hear their review here). I still haven’t seen New Moon (I know, I know – I’m waiting to borrow it from my library still). I can’t wait to hear what Cliff and Stephanie think about the last book “Breaking Dawn”. I kind of felt like Stephanie Meyer “jumped the shark” on that one. They said to be on the look out for new episodes released soon with Cliff and Stephanie’s thoughts on it.

Hope you’re having a great summer so far and enjoying some good “beach reads”! :-)

This is Carole from the Community here again bringing you the Weekly Round Up. Of special note this week is the “iPhone Games” episode of the Gaming With Matt podcast. I have an iPod Touch myself and I am always overwhelmed by all the games in the app store. I enjoyed this podcast because Matt talked about some of the games he liked, and described them. Now when I go to the app store, I actually have a couple of games to look for and try. I think I’m going to especially like “Sheep Stacker”. :-D Matt (Cliff & Stephanie’s son) is well spoken and has some great iPhone/Touch game suggestions – take a listen! I also want to mention that if you aren’t a Plus member, there is a Full Time Mom episode in the free feed this week, which doesn’t happen too often. Catch it while you can and see what you’re missing!

Right now, here’s what rolled out on the GSPN feed in the last week – go get ‘em while they’re hot:

Cliff shares an issue that he’s been having on his Mac when deleting items off his SD card where it is not freeing up that memory, and Juan emailed with a few questions about podcasting and Cliff chose to go ahead and include those here in the podcast as well.

So, I mentioned earlier that I have an iPod Touch – well, I was only brave enough today to do the OS update. I figured I’d let the first “wave” of people do the update and see if it seemed “safe”. I’m happy to report mine updated just fine and I love the new features like folders that the update brought. Now I can hit the app store and look for “Sheep Stacker” and put it in my “Games” folder. :-D

My favorite game for the iPhone/Touch is “Rush Hour” – what’s yours?

See you next week! Carole

Hi gspn.tv Fans! This is Carole from the Community here again bringing you the Weekly Round Up. The podcast I’m highlighting this week is the About the Church episode called, “Big Butter Jesus Struck By Lightning” – have you heard about this? I had seen a headline on the internet also referring to it as the “Touchdown Jesus” but I never clicked it to see what it was about, so when I saw that Cliff and DG were talking about it, my curiosity got the better of me. Even if you know the story of the “Big Butter/Touchdown Jesus”, did you know there was a song about it? And even if you’ve heard the song, have you ever heard Cliff and DG sing it? You gotta have a listen, it’s hilarious!!

Right now, here’s what rolled out on the GSPN feed in the last week – go get ‘em while they’re hot:

+ denotes podcast released for Plus Members only

In this episode, Chris and Cliff talk about long process of trying to reserve or pre-order the new iPhone 4. Also in this episode, they share some of their feelings about the Android operating system and how carriers can keep you from upgrading to the latest software version without first getting their approval, and after it’s been loaded down with their software on top of it.

They took a call from John who asked about getting a keyboard shortcut for turning off the wifi on a Mac. Cliff and Chris didn’t have a solution for this. However, if you know of a piece of software that would allow this, would you call them at 859-795-4067 and leave them feedback with some insights on how this can be done?

They wrapped the show by being fair and balanced and giving some benefits of having the new Sprint Evo smart phone. Oh, and you definitely should check out iPad Archade box that they mentioned!

In this episode, Cliff shares a review of Toy Story 3 that he and Meagan did on their way home from seeing the Press Screening of the movie. Stephanie shares that she also has had some questions about the decision of moving to another place outside of where we have always lived. Of course they took a great deal of audio feedback including some calls from folks telling why their home towns would be a great place for them to move to, and a phone call from Emma who is the person who started the higher education topic.

In this episode, Cliff takes several calls from folks in the community who have successfully found virtual assistants who are helping to radically improve their businesses. It’s important to note that these people are just like you and I. You can do this!

In this episode, Cliff and Andy share two main topics. Andy answers a request for some case studies of local/geographically based businesses that are finding success with using social media. Cliff shares some thoughts that have come to his mind on a different approach to his coaching and consulting services that could possibly earn him as much as $20,000 per month.

In this episode, Cliff and DG actually sing! Do they really need to post anything else here in the show notes to get you to want to listen to this episode? I didn’t think so!

Podcast Answer Man 164 – Become and Expert in Your Field

In this episode of Podcast Answer Man, Cliff shares some feedback from Troy that is a perfect example of how you can become an expert in your field through the process of creating a podcast around your passion/niche.

Cliff also took an impromptu call from @MarcusCarey. (Cliff promises that he did not ask Marc to call and didn’t know what he wanted to share when Cliff decided to take the live call.) With that said, Marc shared some very kind words about the value in the coaching that Cliff has done with him. It was a very flattering testimonial. Thank You Marc!

Cliff took another question from the community about creating an “all-inclusive” feed for multiple podcasts. He mentioned how he does this through the use of a single installation of WordPress. Cliff also shares how you can use Yahoo Pipes to combine multiple feeds into one.

Finally, Cliff jokingly said that this week’s episode is sponsored by HIM!!! Cliff took just a moment to talk about a video training product that he created called Social Media 101 – How I Built My Brand. The cost of this training product is only $100 and is available for purchase by emailing him at Cliff@Ravenscraft.org and letting me know of your interest in this training.

In this episode, Cliff is joined by his wife, Stephanie, as they discuss their thoughts after watching episodes 2 and 3 of the Losing It With Jillian show. They also share how, in spite of how far they have come, they still find that at times, they get derailed and start feeling like they are back at the beginning even though they are still very far in the journey. Father Roderick was not available to record this week but he should be back next week.

So, didja like my Round Up this week? Ok, that’s a little joke in reference to the Social Media Serenity podcast episode 044 “I Like Your Comment” where Cliff and Erik were talking about how they thought the Facebook “liking” was getting a little out of control. In fact, I went to the Podcast Answer Man website mentioned (www.podcastanswerman.com) and I looked for a button to “Like” that Erik “Liked” the website, but I guess Facebook hasn’t taken Cliff’s tongue-in-cheek suggestion of being able to “Like” other people’s “Likes” ….yet! :-)

Do YOU think all the Facebook “Like” buttons apperaing all over the internet are over the top too? Or do you “Like” all the “Likes”? LOL…

See you next week! Carole

Hi gspn.tv Fans! This is Carole from the Community here again bringing you the Weekly Round Up. Of special note this week is the MultiTasking episode of Business Tech Weekly (this happens to be a Plus Member only episode, FYI). Now you might think that if you don’t own a business or aren’t a business person that this podcast isn’t relevant to you, but I beg to differ. I am a stay at home mom and though I’m not in the “business world” I often find useful nuggets of information in the Business Tech Weekly podcast, as is the case in this week’s episode where Cliff and Andy talk about multitasking. I may not have a career right now, but I’ve got plenty of commitments, tasks and emails I juggle and have to keep track of. Cliff and Andy discuss ways of using technology (and common sense) to multitask. So if you don’t normally listen to this show, give it a try! (If you’re not a Plus Member, then I encourage you to try some of the free episodes Cliff often releases.) I listen to it often (in between watching the soaps and eating bon bons – ’cause that’s all we stay at home moms do, right? LOL!).

Right now, here’s what rolled out on the GSPN feed in the last week – go get ‘em while they’re hot:

Family From the Heart 112 – Roots Can Grow Anywhere

In this episode, Cliff and Stephanie share more thoughts on the idea of picking up their roots and moving the family to a new location. Also in this episode, they had some feedback that suggested that our feelings that they shared about higher education last week were wrong. Also in this episode, they shared some thoughts on how to determine if a decision is their will or God’s will.

About the Church 114 – Stand Up and Agree

In this episode of About The Church, Cliff and DG do something they have never done before. They actually stood up during the entire recording of the episode. Not only that, but they had a great deal of fun generally speaking about the church. If you want to know what it is that DG & Cliff actually agree on, theologically, in this episode, you’ll just have to listen to find out.

Full Time Mom 127 – When You Just Need Privacy

In this episode, Stephanie shares the following items:
• First day of Summer vacation has arrived.
• Plans for a weekly trip to the Library
• Beginning of the Summer Bridge Activity books.
• Wedding Right Repair Plans
• Breakfast at Nanny’s
• Finding value in the profession of being a mom.

• Erik called to ask if it is possible for Cliff to track states on his Plus Member Podcasts
• Andy asked Cliff for his initial thoughts on the Zoom H1 recorder which Cliff will have a demo unit of soon.

In this episode, Cliff and Fr. Roderick share an update on what has been going on in their own journey over the past two weeks. Also, they share some thoughts on what they would like to do with the Biggest Loser Fan Podcast during the summer hiatus. The good news is that the show is going to continue on a weekly basis.
In this episode, Cliff gets back out in the neighborhood for another walkcast. He shares what has been going on the past two weeks as it relates to his pursuit of a balanced life. He shares what the scale showed when he stepped on it yesterday. Cliff also shares a few areas where he’s experienced a great deal of success outside of health and fitness.

So, one final tidbit from the Business Tech Weekly episode I was talking about – in the show they share a funny article that tells you what type of person you are based on the email address that you have. I think it was actually somewhat accurate – my main email address is a Gmail address, and it had me pegged right on. Take a listen and see what your email address says about you! And if you’re not a Plus member, why not consider it? Click here to find out more –> Plus Membership

This is Carole from the Community here again bringing you the Weekly Round Up. Of special note this week is the Podcast Answer Man episode where the tables are turned and Cliff is interviewed by Dan Miller (author of “48 Days to the Work You Love”). Also, make sure to catch the Family From the Heart episode – Cliff and Stephanie tell the story of their wedding day – it’s classic!

Right now, here’s what rolled out on the GSPN feed in the last week – go get ‘em while they’re hot:

This week, the tables are turned as Cliff is the one being interviewed. It was just December of 2009 when Cliff released his interview with Dan Miller here on Podcast Answer Man. Since that time, Dan has become not only one of his clients, but also a really good friend.

This interview is from when Dan paid Cliff one of the highest honors as he positioned him in front of his community on a member only teleseminar. He was kind enough to allow Cliff to share this interview with you here in this week’s Podcast Answer Man. You can find Dan Miller’s podcast at 48Days.com.

In this episode, Cliff and Stephanie share some of their thoughts on whether or not a college education is required to be successful and whether or not it should be something they push their children into. They also answer a question about what their Wedding Day was like.

+ Full Time Mom 126 – A Jumbled Mess in My Head

In this episode, DG and Cliff play a little catch up after going two weeks without doing a podcast together. They also talk about the state of DG’s search for employment and some of the issues that he is facing when working with the church. Finally, Cliff shares an encouraging experience he had with the online worship at NorthlandChurch.net.

In this episode, Cliff and Andy discuss different features that they have recently found useful in Google Labs. Andy gives his thoughts on using gist.com. Finally, Andy shares some thoughts on how to have quality communication with your customers. Call Them Today: Do you have a question about a technology that could help you in your business?
In this episode, Cliff does the show solo. While Cliff was correct in that Fr. Roderick had decided to take the rest of the week off from podcasting, this was not the reason Fr. Roderick did not show up for today’s recording. What happened was that Fr. Roderick thought that they had agreed to do a show next Friday since they already did a show this week for the Biggest Loser Podcast. Oh well. Here is Cliff’s attempt to fly solo today, giving his thoughts on the finale of season 9 and getting caught up to date with some of the community feedback that has come in. Enjoy!

In this episode, Cliff shares some exciting thoughts about the Lost series finale event. He shares an exciting story about how he was interviewed by Dan Miller. He shares about a recent field trip that he went on with his daughter. Cliff gets caught up on all your voice feedback. And finally, Cliff is out the door to have a three day vacation with his family.

In this episode, Cliff shares some exciting events that happened in his business as the result of the hard work of his own Virtual Assistant. He also shared thoughts on three more tech tools that could help you in your collaboration with your virtual assistant. The tools mentioned were GoToMeeting.com, LogMeIn.com, and Tungle.com. To wrap up the show, Cliff shares some really exciting feedback from listeners who are experiencing some amazing results in their business as the direct result of using a virtual assistant after being inspired by this podcast. Special thanks to Contemporary VA for sponsoring this podcast.

So, fellow gspn.tv listeners, it is revealed in the Family From the Heart episode that there likely exists a photo of Cliff doing the “YMCA” from his wedding day. Don’t you think he owes it to us, his loyal and steadfast fans, to post that picture? And while he’s at it, don’t we all want to see Cliff and Stephanie’s wedding photo too? Tell Cliff and Stephanie you want to see those photos! :-D

Hi GSPN Fans! This is Carole from the Community here again bringing you the weekly round up. I was going to talk about my thoughts on the Lost finale, but I think I want to reserve my final judgment on that until I have a little more time to think about it, and listen to what others think (call the gspn.tv listener line and throw in YOUR two cents – 859-795-4067). However I will tell you *my* initial reaction: I feel kinda cheated. But, maybe that will change…. So, as I said, rather than go on any more about Lost, instead I’m going to tell you a funny thing about the cat we recently adopted. Well, I will in a minute…

Right now, here’s what rolled out on the GSPN feed in the last week – go get ‘em while they’re hot:

In this episode, Cliff has a conversation with Rob Walch about the recent transition of Libsyn users to the new Libsyn Three system. The conversation actually led to some very insightful information in the area of knowing how you can instantly overwrite a file that you may want to replace. Also, Cliff ended the show talking more about some additional comments that Leo Leporte has shared related to the medium of podcasting.

Ali was the winner of season 5 and the first female who achieved the title of Biggest Loser. It is impossible to listen to this episode and not be energized by Ali’s positive outlook on life. Cliff and Father Roderick hope that you enjoy Ali’s insights as much as they did.

So, as I mentioned, we recently adopted a cat. She’s a seven year old Siamese and her name is Angel. Being a Siamese, she is very sleek and graceful, and can jump to amazing heights. She is also very fast. My husband and I were laying in bed watching the Lost finale the other night, and one minute we’re sniffing back tears over Sawyer and Juliet, the next minute all of a sudden out of nowhere, Angel comes racing in and leaps onto the bed, landing on us at like, forty miles an hour! She’s a crazy kitty, but we love her. Angel does other things that are a mystery to us sometimes, but it’s not about figuring out the mysteries, it’s about our relationships, right? Ha ha… (Sorry, I’m poking fun at “Lost”…)

Do you have any pets with funny quirks? Leave me a comment and tell me!

See you next week! Carole

This is Carole from the Community here again bringing you the weekly round up. I notice that Cliff and Stephanie have been talking quite a bit lately about organic food, and that’s something that’s been on my mind also, ever since I saw Food Inc. (I highly recommend this very eye-opening documentary). But like Cliff and Stephanie, I struggle with the cost of “going organic”. It’s just too expensive to buy everything organic…but where do you start? Cliff and Stephanie talk about this a bit in the most recent Family From the Heart episode, and as for me, I have chosen my first “baby step”. More about that in a minute…

Right now, here’s what rolled out on the GSPN feed in the last week – go get ‘em while they’re hot:

So, as far as *our* first step in “going organic”, I decided to go with organic milk. This sounds very silly, but when I watched Food Inc. with my daughter, one of the things that stuck out for her was that in the clip from the Stonyfield Farm (organic) farm, the cows were “happy” – they could go out in the sunshine and eat grass. So I decided to buy organic milk and my daughter says she likes it because it’s from “the happy cows”. Well, silly as it may be, at least she’s getting a positive mindset about organic food. :-) As my next “baby step” I’m going to look at the “dirty dozen” foods (the 12 fruits and veggies considered to have the most pesticide residue).

What do you think about organic food? Leave me a comment and tell me!

See you next week! Carole

This is Carole from the Community here again bringing you the weekly round up. I’m back to mowing the lawn again on a regular basis now that spring is truly here (with even a hint of summer here in the northeast!) and that means extra time to listen to gspn.tv podcasts! And trust me, listening to podcasts makes mowing go soooo much faster! (Makes vacuuming go faster too – you should try it. :-) In fact, I am going to mow the lawn tomorrow…and I hope I don’t find anything like what I found last week when I mowed the lawn…but more about that in a minute…

Right now, here’s what rolled out on the GSPN feed in the last week – go get ‘em while they’re hot:

Cliff also shared that he received an email from MailChimp.com this week saying they were cutting his monthly bill in half! This makes Cliff like them a ton more than he already did!

Mary called in because iTunes moved the “Convert To MP3″ link on her. For those looking for this option, highlight your file in iTunes and then click on the “Advanced Menu” and you’ll see it there!

Wayne Henderson called in and told us about the Vericorder Mini Mic for the iPhone/iPad.

Finally, Cliff ends the episode by sharing his favorite podcast moment of the week from ConnieAndSheilaTalk.com.

Biggest Loser 025 – Interview with Pete Thomas

In this episode, Cliff and Father Roderick have the privilege of talking with Pete Thomas from season 2 of the Biggest Loser. Pete wanted to come on to the Biggest Loser Podcast to talk about the Healthy Weight Match Up Challenge where you could work as a team with some friends in an effort to lose weight and have a chance at winning $10,000. For more details, please click here.

In the interview, Pete shares his thoughts as to what the “Secret Sauce” is on why people are so effective at losing weight while on the Biggest Loser Ranch. The best part is that when you hear the secret sauce, you’ll see that you can easily apply this to your own situation at home.

If you would like to follow Pete’s continued journey, Cliff included links to Pete’s Blog, Twitter Profile, and Facebook Profile below. Be sure to thank him for coming onto the Biggest Loser Podcast!

In this episode, Cliff shares a challenge that @ErikJFisher made to him. He also then shares his experience running his very first 5K run on a treadmill.

Weekly Lost Podcast 253 – The Candidate Initial Reaction

Be sure to RSVP for the LOST Series Finale Party!

In this episode, Stephanie and Cliff share the community reaction to Season 6 Episode 14, “The Candidate.”

Virtual Assistant Podcast 005 – Mike and Natalie from the Philippines

Cliff went back and forth on whether or not to release this episode for three reasons. First is due to the fact that it was only two weeks ago when he covered the topic of off shore virtual assistants in the Philippines. However, he believes talking to the folks who actually work as a virtual assistant from the Philippines offers a completely different perspective on the matter.

The second reason is due to the audio quality – they had to deal with a pretty bad connection. Cliff did his best to minimize the poor audio quality.

The final reason why he had second thoughts about releasing this episode was due to the fact that it clearly shows just how much of a naive American that he has been in his adult life. He hopes that this episode will help others, with an American centric worldview, to have a broader perspective on other peoples and cultures in the world.

In this episode, Cliff talks with Dr. Joseph Valenzi from TalkToTheDentist.com. Joe came to Cliff back in September of last year wanting to launch a podcast about dentistry. After some consultation with him, Cliff had convinced him of the advantages of including his podcast on his main dentistry website rather than launching the podcast on a site of its own. More than six months later, he has now produced 23 podcast episodes and is in a position to share how producing a podcast has benefited his local business.

And that’s a wrap for last week!

Quite a nice selection of podcasts for lawn mowing last week, huh? :-D Anyway, it takes me about three hours to mow because we have quite a bit of property. Part of our yard stretches pretty far down a hill, then levels off by a creek. Last week when I mowed there, there was a dead coyote carcass laying in the grass! It was fresh enough that it stunk to high heavens! Let’s hope I don’t find any “surprises” tomorrow. (I don’t even want to think about what animal killed the coyote, yikes!)

Have you ever found anything strange when you were mowing your lawn? Do you like to listen to Cliff and Stephanie while you mow the lawn too? Leave me a comment and tell me!

See you next week! Carole :-)

Also, in this episode, Cliff shares an email that he received from his friend, Joe, who is a Pastor. He asked two questions. First, as a pastor, would it be possible to hire a virtual assistant to help with project and team management in a ministry setting? If so, what are some things that he should consider? Joe’s second question was about whether or not a virtual assistant could help in the life management aspects of being a pastor.

However, Cliff certainly wanted to have Heather share the options that are available from CVA as he really thinks that many people from the gspn.tv community would benefit from the same things he has benefited from by using the services they have to offer.

And that’s a wrap for last week!

So, as I mentioned, I’ve come down with a fever…..baseball fever! I live in NY so there are two teams to root for – the Yankees or the Mets. You might wonder why I didn’t say the Yankees AND the Mets. Well it’s because for some reason I don’t understand, it seems that whichever one you like, you have to hate the other. (I actually like both teams, but don’t tell anyone that.) Anyway, I primarily root for the Mets who have had an absolutely “amazin” turnaround in the last 10 games. For some reason, this year I feel compelled to watch or listen to nearly every game – don’t know I why I have the fever so bad this year. Maybe the winter was too long, LOL!

Do you have baseball fever? Do you know why you can’t like both teams that are from your state or region (or is that just a NY thing)? Leave me a comment and tell me!

See you next week! Carole

This is Carole from the Community here again bringing you the weekly round up. The weather is getting warmer here in upstate NY – I think I’m going to have to actually mow the lawn in the next week! Mowing the lawn is actually the reason I found gspn.tv in the first place – I was looking for podcasts to listen to while I mowed the lawn and I found “The Weekly Lost Podcast” and the rest is history. Now gspn.tv puts out so many podcasts I like, I have trouble keeping up with them all! Not to mention keeping up with all the tv shows we like too, now that the days are getting longer and we are finding ourselves puttering outside almost until “prime time”. There is another factor that is further complicating things, but more about that in a minute…

In this episode, Cliff takes a call from Brent who asked about the advantages and disadvantages of hiring a Virtual Assistant from outside the United States. Since Cliff’s experience in hiring a Virtual Assistant is limited to hiring a domestic VA, he sought out a person to interview that could give him a greater understanding of some of the issues related to hiring a Virtual Assistant from outside the United States. Cliff’s interview with Gilbert Ballow, VP of Business Development for StaffVirtual.com, really helped give him a broader perspective on the topic at hand.

In this interview, the following topics are addressed:

* What is the difference between a Virtual Assistant and a Virtual Specialist?
* What is Labor Arbitrage and how does it apply to my business?
* The benefits of having a virtual assistant that works after normal business hours.
* The service based work ethic in other countries in contrast to that in the States.
* What about speaking good English?
* What about security of sensitive financial information and passwords?
* Does hiring an offshore VA hurt the US economy?
* What type of work can a virtual assistant who lives outside the US do for my business?
* What sort of pricing are we looking at when we consider an offshore VA?

So, as if we weren’t already having trouble keeping up with all the regular tv shows we like, what is making things even more difficult is that baseball season has started, and there are just so darn many games on in a week! With the addition of baseball games to watch and the longer days that draw us outside, I’m not sure how will we ever keep up with all the tv shows that kept up entertained all winter long (we’re even behind on Lost which is waiting on the DVR), but all I know is that me, my iPod, the lawnmower and some gspn.tv podcasts have a date this week! :-D (They actually make hearing protection with an mp3 input – suh-weet!)

This is Carole from the Community here again bringing you the weekly round up. Well, I finally got the opportunity to watch the movie “New Moon” (from the Twilight Saga). It was MUCH better than I was expecting! However, I’m not sure I’m too crazy about the ending, even though I knew what was going to happen. Now I gotta see what Stephanie and Cliff thought by listening to their New Moon movie review. I’ll tell you, I’ve read all four Twilight books and I can’t WAIT to hear what Stephanie and Cliff think of the last book, Breaking Dawn. I loved the first three books, but I think I can sum up my opinion of the last book with one word – “yikes!”. Anyway, enough about Twilight for the moment…

Welcome to the first episode of the Virtual Assistant Podcast. Cliff Ravenscraft is a self confessed workaholic, perfectionist and a total control freak. Put all of those traits together, on top of the fact that he launched his own business just a few short years ago, and you’ll quickly come to understand why he might be the perfect person to launch a podcast devoted to the industry of Virtual Assistants. This show is sponsored by Contemporary VA, the firm that Cliff used to hire his own dedicated VA. In this first episode, Cliff shares a little of his own story and how he came to decide that he needed a virtual assistant to help him move forward in his own business.

And one more reminder – Stephanie and Cliff are going to be interviewing François Chau who plays Dr. Pierre Chang on abc’s LOST! The interview is confirmed for this Friday at 3pm Eastern Time on the Live Show Page. Please call 859-795-4067 today with your question for François Chau!

So, as I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I’ve finished reading the Twilight saga. Now I’m wishing I had a new series of books to read. (I love a series because you get such a long and rich story. There’s nothing like curling up with a great book and knowing there are still two or three – or more – to read! :-) I’ve already read the Harry Potter books… I’ve been browsing in the fiction section at Mardel.com looking for that “next great series” but I haven’t found anything yet… (Don’t forget to use promo code “gspn” for 10% off if you buy anything from Mardel!)

Anyone have any good book series recommendations? Leave me a comment and tell me!

See you next week! Carole :-)
