I can hardly believe that this is the 600th time that I’ve held a recorder in my hand to share what’s been going on in my life. I started this podcast back on March 16th, 2006 and have been using this show to provide behind the scenes look at my life.

I have shared my journey from when I was podcasting as a hobby, to when I decided to start dreaming about a career focused on podcasting and all the details related to my journey of building my business to the level that it is today.

I’m incredibly thankful those of have been with me since episode 001 and am also thankful for those who have joined me along the way. I hope to be blessed with the opportunity to share another 600+ episodes with you moving forward.

Stephanie and I just returned from a seven day pleasure cruise, aboard the Celebrity Silhouette, with folks from Dan Miller’s 48 Days community. If you have ever been on a cruise before, you know that the culture is one of laying back, relaxing and enjoying entertainment and an unlimited amount of food.

It’s not uncommon for folks to gain as much as one pound per day on a cruise. Most people are prepared for the fact that they are going to gain a few extra pounds during their trip. However, I was determined that I would not only not gain weight while on the cruise, but that I would actually lose weight with my continued commitment to my healthy lifestyle.

In this episode of Pursuing A Balanced Life, I share the decisions that I made during my week on the cruise ship as it relates to exercise and food choices. At the end of the episode, I reveal the result from stepping on the scale upon my return.

In this week’s episode, I share my excitement regarding the fact that I’ve scheduled my first appointment with my personal trainer and that I’ve officially registered for my upcoming triathlon.

Also, Jason Purse posted a comment on last week’s episode saying, “I’m having a bit of a challenge – my wife and children on not on board with joining me with my behavior modification when it comes to changing the quality of my food intake. Don’t let the well meaning, yet unsolicited, advice of others discourage you when you are making such great progress.

They will often tell you what you are doing is great, but how you can do much better by following their advice. Some will tell you what you are doing is wrong and tell you what you should do instead.

Here is some of the most common, yet unsolicited, advice that I have received in the past two months… “Don’t eat eggs, don’t eat wheat, don’t eat sugar, don’t eat fat, don’t eat meat”, etc etc etc. I’m pretty sure that if you were to only juice organic tree bark, you would still have someone telling you that you’re doing it wrong.

Here’s my advice… Start somewhere. Make a lifelong commitment to a single change. As long as you are doing better today than you were before, celebrate that and take it to the next level at your own pace.
