Welcome To The Old Pursing A Balanced Life Podcast

tpftya

In this episode of The Cliff Ravenscraft Show, I share the decisions that I have made to handle the balance between this podcast and Podcast Answer Man. I also share some of the exciting projects, products and services that I hope to release in the year ahead.

As you can imagine, I’ve received a lot of wonderful feedback as the result of the Year of Identity episodes a few weeks back. In this episode, I share one of those emails.

I shared a tip about setting a recurring task on your to do list that says… “Do something today to (fill in the blank).” Doing this has already generated an additional $6,000 in income that would not be in my bank account today had I not put that recurring task on my to do list.

A few weeks ago, I mentioned that I’d be willing to do some one-on-one coaching calls with folks at my rate of $300/hr with a minimum of one hour as long as the call was not related to the technical aspects of podcasting. Well, I had my first such coaching call and, in the episode, I share how it went.

To wrap things up, I talked about some recent additions that I made to my home gym/workout room and the fact that I had a nurse come out to do an exam for a new life insurance policy that I applied for.

I hope that you’ll find this episode entertaining, educational, encouraging and that it will inspire you to take your own message, your business and your life to the next level.

In this episode of Pursuing A Balanced Life, I share a very authentic and raw look into what has been going through my mind over the past couple of weeks. I had achieved every single goal that I set for myself in 2015 (I shared what those goals were, in this episode, by the way). However, despite having achieved so much success, I still struggled with some pretty significant bouts of depression during the final three weeks of December. I am hopeful that those dark days are behind me and in this episode, I share what I’m looking out for in the year ahead.

I get a little fired up in this episode of Pursuing A Balanced Life. A few months ago, I had someone tell me that they were very excited about all the progress that I had made in my health and fitness journey. They then turned their words of encouragement to words of warning.

This person warned me that I would eventually hit a plateau in my weight loss and that the daily struggle to maintain my daily workouts would get much more difficult. He told me to not give up, that this was going to be an ongoing battle that I would have to fight for the rest of my life.

I respectfully disagreed with this person’s mindset.

I wanted to record an episode about this topic back when this happened. However, I thought that it might seem too reactionary.

This morning, I had an an exchange with someone in the comments section of a recent Instagram post. I had congratulated him on his amazing success in losing 40 pounds in the past two and a half months.

This person then responded by saying… “Thanks Cliff. It’s a daily struggle, but I seem to be on the winning side this time!”

I immediately wrote back to him saying… “I pray that one day the thought that is a “daily struggle” will transform into the thought that “this is an exciting daily journey of amazing transformation to fully becoming all that you were created to be.” – Mindset is everything!!!!”

After that, I knew that I had to come and share my heart on this topic.

10to20sn

Every now and then, I record an episode of Pursuing A Balanced Life that I’m just a bit apprehensive about publishing. Episode 624 is one of those episodes.

After reading the “The One Thing,” I made it a goal to answer several important questions to gain clarity about what direction I want to go with my life, moving forward. The questions were…

1) How much money do I want to be earning in 10 to 20 years from now?

2) What do I want my life to look like (what will I be doing) in 10 to 20 years from now?

3) What do I want to be known for?

4) What is it that drives me to do what I do?

Last week, I wrote my answers to these questions on my giant whiteboard. These answers are made up of thoughts and and feelings that have been stirring around in my heart for the past few years. It felt really good to actually commit to writing these things down.

However, after I sat behind a microphone and shared these answers in a podcast episode, I must admit that I have questioned the thought of daring to dream such big dreams.

I’ve heard it reported that Oprah Winfrey has said… “I was once afraid of people saying, “Who does she think she is?” Now I have the courage to stand and say, “This is who I am.”

One thing is for certain, I do feel called to dream bigger dreams and these are the dreams that keep reoccurring in my heart and mind. Also, I am confident that I feel called to share what I recorded in this episode with the world.

So if you are interested, you can hear the wild and crazy dreams that I have for what I want my life to look like, in 10 to 20 years from now, by listening to episode 624 of Pursuing A Balanced Life.

one-thingThe One Thing Book Review
While I mention the book a bit in my opening dialog as I talk my my most recent trip to the UK and whether or not my purchase of the highest priced Kindle Voyage was a worthy investment, the meat of my review of “The One Thing” by Gary Keller starts at 22 minute and 10 seconds into the episode.

This book has had a tremendous impact on my mindset and I’m delighted to share my thoughts and insights as I review the highlights I had made while I was reading the book.

In the episode, I mentioned that I would include these affiliate links to the NEW KINDLE PAPERWHITE and the KINDLE VOYAGE e-readers.

In this special episode of Pursuing A Balanced Life, Meagan joins me in the studio after three and a half years of radio silence. This is not a typical episode for the show. However, it was a ton of fun and I’m looking forward to the launch of Meagan’s possible new podcast.

In this episode, I talk about how and why it has been difficult to focus on several priorities that have no ties to financial income. I’m now entering into a new season of life where I am making plans to maintain my level of commitment to my family and fitness goals while jumping back into the driver’s seat of my business. In a few months from now, I know that, looking back, this episode will mark the very beginning of the next chapter of my journey.
