Launching Trost Moving Pictures, Tracy has already directed three films in the past three years. In this episode, we mention that we were able to see a special screening of his latest movie, The Lamp, which stars L. Themes include; why some vacations are more educational than the homework brought along, experiences with sickness on vacation, and publicly speaking about podcasting and how their family as a whole make up the gspn.tv team. It’s never too early to learn that you can make a living at doing something you love, to get inspired, or to learn how the rest of the world differs from your own backyard.

Meagan’s Vase:
This vase was made by the folks from the Corning Museum of Glass. They had a live demonstration while we were on our cruise and Meagan won a design contest, where they chose her design and actually created this as the result.

Words can not begin to express how much fun our entire family had on Dan Miller’s No More Mondays Cruise. It took us three years to get to the place where we could afford to do something like this.

In hindsight, this trip was a major investment in, not only our business, but our family as well. Over the course of eleven days, this journey changed the dynamics of our family and provided life lessons that could only be experienced hands on, rather than being read about in a book.

The following footage is about 21 minutes in length. A majority of the photography and video footage was done by our three children who are ages 11, 9, and 5. Please keep this in mind when you encounter portions of the video that may not be as steady as you would like.

You may remember her as D. J. Tanner on the hit television sitcom, Full House. Candace Cameron Bure has written a book titled “Reshaping It All.” The subtitle of the book says it all. It is “Motivation for Physical and Spiritual Fitness.”
Stephanie was turned on to this book about a month ago, and as her husband, I will tell you that this book has been used by God to completely reshape her own spiritual life. Remember the famous experiment called the Pygmalion Effect? Twenty-five grade school teachers were told their students were underachievers from apathetic families. Another twenty-five were told their students were high achievers from supportive families. The test scores of the â€œunderachieversâ€ dropped by 25 points, while the scores of the â€œoverachieversâ€ increased by 50 points. However, the students had been randomly divided into the two groups. All factors were equally distributed; the only difference: the expectation of the teachers.

Wow–how might that apply in our own lives? Expect excellence from your children and you are likely to see it. Expect better things from your spouse and itâ€™s likely to happen. Expect more from yourself and you will move to a higher level of success. Expect a better job and it will happen, expect extraordinary results in your business and you will â€œseeâ€ ways to make that happen.

People sometimes cringe at being told this principle. We all like to have something or someone to blame for our misfortunes. Circumstances, family history, our spouse, our boss or our â€œluckâ€ are likely candidates for finger pointing. Start believing that â€œluckâ€ is when preparation meets opportunity.

- Are the thoughts above applicable when we say things like â€œMcKenna is terrified of the dentist and she simply will not sit still to let him work on her teeth.â€?

- Is expecting excellence from our children appropriate? (Hold your hands as high as you can example)

- What are some areas in our lives where we feel we need to expect more from ourselves?

- What does that statement â€œLuck is when preparation meets opportunityâ€ mean to you?
