Are you on WordPress.com or do you have your own installation of WordPress?

Hmm...I don't have that text box. All I have is a button that says change permalinks.

IDK. It might have something to do with the theme I chose.

Thanks for the pic, Cliff.

EDITED TO ADD:

I didn't see a reply button for this topic, but

I have a hosted wordpress installation.

Is there a way to customize links in wordpress without using a plugin?

All I'm trying to do is to create a link structure like this:

www.websitename.com/CategoryName/PostTitle

www.websitename.com/blog/TitleofBlogPost

I messed with the permalinks settings in wordpress but all I didn't get the result I wanted.

I know Cliff talked about something similar, if not this very topic a few episodes back were he answered a listener voicemail about link customization. Does anybody remember the ep? Maybe that will help answer my question.

This was sent to us as a gift from Dan Miller with the recipe attached.  It was his mothers and has quickly become a family favorite in our home.

4 cups quick cooking oats
1 cup wheat germ or oat bran
1 cup coconut
1 cup nuts (any kind - we use peanuts)
1 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup sesame seeds (optional - we do not add)
3/4 cup brown sugar

Mix all these ingredients and in a separate small bowl combine:

3/4 cup vegetable or canola oil
1/3 cup water
2 Tablespoons vanilla

Mix well and add to the dry mixture, stirring well.  Bake in open roasting pan or large cookie sheet for 30 min on 250 degrees.  Pull from oven and stir well in pan, then put into oven again for another 30 minutes.  Repeat stirring and add:

2 cups of any combination of raisins, dried cranberries, dried blueberries.

Put in oven and bake another 30 min.  Remove and cool before putting in a container for storage or gift-giving.  Good with milk or cream, hot or cold!

Jeff, you know, I've never submitted any of my sites to search engines.

I take that back. I did it back in the mid to late 90's.

However, I've never submitted a WordPress site to any blog engine.  I think as long as you turn of the privacy setting which blocks spiders, your site will get indexed by all the major players.

Howdy. I didn't have enough to do in my free time, so I decided to redo my Wordpress site from scratch. Smiley

I have survived the ordeal (somewhat) and wondered when (if?) I should submit the new site to the search engines (Google, etc).

I use a redirect, so that part will be easy, but I want to make sure that when the search engine spiders crawl and return the information to the correct pages in the new site, instead of the old site.

Does that make sense?

Thanks for any input.
