I'm sorry if this topic has been brought up before, but I didn't see it...

I've pointed this out to friends, but nobody seems to be able to talk about it.

Think about it, if Locke was banished from the Island, he probably came back and couldn't walk, and would be back in the wheelchair.

Am I the only one who thinks that if Locke came home to no family, no friends, was back in the wheelchair, and had to hide what really happened, he would commit suicide?

I think it's a very real possibility, and none of the Blogs or Podcasts (that I listen to) have brought that up.

Any ideas??

I can see this as plausible, but I'll want to see more of the circumstances of how he got off the island.

My own theory (kind of out there until I get more evidence to back it up) is that Locke committed suicide as an act of devotion to the Island. The island needed the Oceanic 6 to come back and Locke willingly sacrificed himself to allow that to happen. Maybe Locke was, as he said in season 1: "a sacrifice that the Island demanded." No one I've mentioned this to seems to agree with me, but when Locke said to Jack "Wait until you see what I'm about to do." he wasn't referring to moving the island at all. I think when he looked into the eye of the Island back in season 1, he saw that it had the power to restore life and he was telling the "Man of Science" that because it would blow his mind.

Crackpot theory? Sure, but until I see evidence otherwise, I'm sticking with it.

Way to semi-predict the reason for Locke's death, Chris. We still have to wait and see if it's a suicide...or if he's even really dead.

Thank you, Faith.

With Lost, I'll take being semi-accurate Smiley

I'm still waiting for something to happen to make my theory completely fall apart though. Smiley

That's a good theory Chris.  If it turns out that bringing Locke's dead body back to the island will reanimate it, will we find out that Locke had that faith in the island that it would do just that?
