I would love to read about the Hopes, Dreams, and/or Plans for 2009 that fellow GSPN.tv Community members have.  To break the ice, I'll start off with some of mine (although I'm sure when I read your ideas, they will spark additional ones for me as well):

* Starting next week, I plan to get more organized.  I need to declutter my garage, closets, and even my computer's desktop and files.
* I need to re-up my efforts to eat better, eat less, drink less soda, drink more water, exercise more, and exercise better...and to post updates more often in the GSPN Health, Fitness, and Accountability section of the forum at http://gspn.tv/forum/index.php?board=155.0
* I plan to stay focused on building my Voice-Over career, including my podcasts, my websites/blog, and staying active in the communities.
* In addition, I need to stay more balanced in all that I do.

OK, now it's your turn friends.  Please share your thoughts, and let you voice (or at least the tone of typing) be heard.

I'll give it a shot, Wayne.  Smiley Much of what you've covered are my goals as well. But here are a few more.

* Listen more to what people are saying and not just about what I'm going to say next.  Embarrassed

* Fit more "quiet time" into my schedule (even for just a few minutes a day). I have a tendency to think I need some kind of noise going at all times.

* Spend at least 10 minutes a day outside , getting much needed fresh air and sunshine (It's amazing how often a day can go by without doing just that) .

* Setting a limit on "channel surfing time" . If there is nothing on....there's nothing on . Then go do something constructive... or actually go to bed at a decent hour.  LOL

* Compliment more, complain less.

*For my children, be the best teacher I can be. For my Master, be the best student I can be.

And lastly...

* Getting to this year's comic con, possibly both NYC and San Diego (which would be our first vacation in about ...um...a dozen years! )

Ouch, that hurt a little, Wayne  Wink  Nevertheless,  thank you for starting this thread.

Get my daughter settled in to college in August.

Attend a writer's conference with my novel manuscript.

Keep walking, maybe work in more running and biking.

I guess I have the general goals that pretty much everyone has - be healthy etc.

The main thing this year is to move cities, which involves saving money, finding new jobs, somewhere to live.. Then after we have moved (probably around 6 months after moving), buy a house. And get a car (I haven't owned a car in 3 years just cos I haven't had a real need for it).

I guess my main concern is the current economy/maybe recession - hopefully the job market isn't too bad and we can find jobs easily, despite predictions of higher unemployment. But at the moment I work in the automotive/finance industry and that probably is the two least stable industries there are. Although my job is in the IT field, not really relating to auto/finance directly which is a good thing.

In 2009, I want.....

-To have accomplished my weekly goal of working out an hour each day, five days a week.
-To count my calories each day and both be mindful of and enjoy the food that I put into my body.
-To spend more time reading stories to my children.
-To spend more time praying with my wife and my children.
-To be more help around the house.
-To be known as someone who goes out of their way to help you whenever possible.
-To read more.
-To love more.
-To relax more.

In business, I hope to....
-Gain enough new consulting clients that I could book 20 hours of my week doing one on one consulting.
-To sell three times as much audio equipment than I did in 2008
-To grow our gspn.tv Plus Membership to 500 Plus Members

Those are just off the top of my head... But I think it's a good start.

  • To get the house actually fixed, and fixed well from our Hurricane Ike damage.

In 2009, I'd like to:
-continue decluttering my house
-exercise & lose weight (I need to lose over 100 lbs)
-be more consistent with my kids in discipline, schooling & scheduling
-make the most of the weekends when hubby is home
-be the best wife & mother I can be
-start paying off our debt so maybe hubby wouldn't have to have a traveling job.

I thought 1,000 was the original goal.  Is this decrease due to the economic situation, or other trends you are seeing?  Just curious about the reasoning behind the change.

1,000 was the original goal.  However, the the origial goals were to be at 500 by the end of 2008.  I'm re-adjusting the goal to include a more realistic but still energetic goal based upon the growth rate over the last few months since we actually started the Plus Membership.

The original goals were set without any data set to look at.

500 Plus Members pays all the bills to where we simply "break even" here.  That's really the "official goal."  Until then, I have to make up the difference in Podcast Consulting and equipment sales.  That is why those goals have been pushed up to compensate for the decrease in goal for Plus Memberships.

I want to remain optimistic, yet at the same time work toward goals that are obtainable and where clear steps can be taken to get closer to that achievement of those goals.

Cliff - As to your GSPN Plus Membership goals, you are pacing incredibly well.  The membership will continue to grow quickly towards 500 as more people learn and share their great experiences and all the intrinsic benefits of being a member.

RE:  My Family Hopes, Dreams and Goals for 2009:

Pray to stay connected to my God, and thank Him for our blessings every day.

Spend more time playing with Susan, instead of just raising her.

Rest more - do things I enjoy just because.

Remember that I am blessed to be working in my dream job, even if it is still work.

Build a new home for my entire family to live in, and encourage my parents to retire soon and move to Florida.

Pray for wisdom and patience to repair my relationship with my brother and his family.

Work on becoming a healthier person and more patient mom.

Best,
Amy

Wow, I am motivated by all of the other goals that GSPN.tv Community members have!  I had no idea when I started this thread, that I would get so many great goal setting ideas from everyone here, and it's not even 1/1/2009 yet (which seems to be the big refocussing day for many people)!  This is AWESOME!
