...  harder to screw your kids up than you think  ... Somehow, I survived all that  ...

My parents did not intend to "screw me up" when they moved overseas with us, and I did "survive" the 3 years, but I don't know that "survive" is the best goal for my kids.

My experience overseas definitely planted major seeds for the rest of my life, both good and bad. I look back on those years positively, but I also reconize that sometimes the bad effects on me and my personality and my psychology outweigh the good.

Katrina,

If you read the entire thread, you've probably seen what the community things of the idea of moving with children..  It's varied. Some believe it's a mistake, some believe it would be a great experience.  And some are not sure what to think.

We're still on the fence.  Life had got pretty busy the summer and we hadn't talked about it as much.  Perhaps another FFTH in the future on our more recent thoughts will come up soon.

And yes, if we are ever in England, we hope to do a meetup with anyone who can make it.  Same would be true of any place we might go.

TRUST ME!!! Podcasting and Plus Membership would VERY MUCH be a part of our journey!!!

To be brutally honest:

I think that my biggest qualm with the whole idea is that I don't want to be funding someone else's two year vacation experience though my plus membership. That's not what I signed up for.

WHOA, that was "brutal".

I have to say to Cliff & Stephanie......GO FOR IT!!...... and you know what, I would even pay more for my plus membership to hear the podcasts from y'all being on the road. Now that you are an internet entrepreneur it doesn't matter where you travel to because as long as you have a wifi connection you are able to work. I wouldn't picture your traveling as a 2yr vacation unless you didn't podcast or produce content for 2yrs & I think we all know that that's not gonna happen Smiley

My husband and  I take our girls to Costa Rica each winter for 3 months. I have a lot of friends & family who think that it is just all fun & games while we are there. Total VACATION. But I am a WAHM with an internet business so while we are there I am still mom & still working from 'home'.
Children are adaptable and as long as they can still count on the security & love from their parents everyday it won't matter where you are. Plus, it's a great education for the children to actually visit other places and see how different cultures live.
Keep up the good work!

For now, we have changed our minds and are not thinking of doing this at this time.  However, you just never know with the Ravenscrafts!

Here's the deal, I can't imagine going a single week without podcasting.  So no matter where we are, the content is still going to keep on coming!
