Well I just finished watching the first ep on my DVR.  I remember some of the original series.  But I'm coming to this with new eyes.  I enjoyed the first ep.  I enjoyed the acting and the series so far.  What are your thoughts?

i thought it was really good, but i was already happy for two reasons: alan tudyk and morena baccerin. yay! plus, there was elizabeth mitchell and joel gretsch (4400).

as for the story, it seems interesting and it just keeps reminding me of the twilight zone episode, "to serve man" with more of a twist. can't wait to see more though!

I really liked the premier, except for the typical teenager going against his parents' wishes.  I hope that V gets to stay on the air long enough to tell the whole story. No unfinished business!!

I'll be watching it this afternoon because the stupid Nashville affiliate bumped it to midnight...and they're doing it for the next two episodes as well. Happy to hear it was good, though. And Alan Tudyk, really?! YAY!!!

We saw the pilot at Comic-Con in July.  I was glad to see that they didn't make any major changes to plot from then.  I am very excited about this new show and hope that Cliff and Steph are watching and that they might do a podcast on it.

I really liked the pilot last night! Hubby said it stayed pretty true to the original mini-series. A few new plot lines. It's one of the few shows recently that we've watched live. I was happy to see the language wasn't bad & only 1 scene we didn't want our 9 yr old to see.

I was a little sad to learn we will only get 4 episodes & then hiatus till new year! SOunds like my 2010 viewing calandar will be full (LOST, Chuck, V among others)!

Oh! & Chuck fans - Scott Rosenbaum, exec. producer of Chuck, is now at the helm of V! Because of V's hiatus, he's able to do Chuck & V at same time!!

I really enjoyed the pilot.  I remembered the miniseries when I was a kid they do seem to be keeping true to the overall plot of the original mini series.  I am interested in where they are going to take the show.  So I hope we could enjoy some fun with an alien invasion on tv for a while.   I am at least giving credit to ABC for going boldly down the scifi route.   Smiley

What is it with Elizabeth Mitchell and guys named JACK? LOL! I enjoyed this episode even though I did have a few gripes. I'm going to give it some time and see how it goes. http://www.visitorspodcast.com

I thought the show was pretty thrilling. It's not Lost, and I have to make sure not to judge it on those terms. And it's hard to see Elizabeth Mitchell in another role, but she's a good actress, so we should be okay. However, the part without the aliens was so dark and dingy. I'm pretty sure that's on purpose, as Fred from Long Island and I talked about on Twitter yesterday. The aliens were so bright and shiny. And my other gut reaction was that the music wasn't that great.

What do you think about the weird schedule? 4 weeks in November then off until next year? Weird!

Never saw the original, so this is all new to me.  I wasn't going to watch it, but got curious after hearing that it appeared to be a commentary on the current administration (which the producers have since denied).  It didn't seem to really get interesting until the last 15 minutes.  It didn't help that the previews had already shown the blonde guy pointing a gun at Mitchell, so I knew he'd turn out to be the bad guy.  Why was that chubby guy acting like he'd never seen reasonably attractive women before?  It looked like they were living in a fairly big city.  Are all the women there that homely?

Not sure I want to let myself get hooked on this, as my fear is that ABC will pull the plug at the first opportunity.  I'm still smarting over the cancellation of "Invasion" just when the story reached its climax.

They are avoiding the holidays and a challenge in view/ratings loss because of the Olympics.

I watched the three I think first episode and liked it. However, I will wait next year to watch it (hoping that it'll come on the European channel) when normally the broadasting is a lot more consistant than in the US....
