Hi, I feel like I'm in over my head. I started a podcast on a wordpress blog. I had no idea what I was doing. I registered a domain got a host and started learning. I found out about RSS and all that and started with feedburner.

Basically, it descended into a week of about 40 hours trying to figure out this plugin and that plugin. There was some maddening error where my posts kept being doubled in feedburner.

I thought I had figured it out - and I finally submitted to Itunes. However, something else went wrong and the rss feed 'doubled' again. Basically in frustration, I took down the site and canceled my hosting, and deleted the feedburner feed.

I started listening to your podcasts (the early ones) - and found out about libsyn. I registered a 5$ account there just to look around - it seems much easier. However, I still have not heard back from itunes on the account that I took down. The feed to it is dead - and when they check it nothing will be there. Of course, I had to submit with my itunes 'account' - will this get me where I won't be able to submit and successfully have another feed accepted?

So the cliff's notes:

Started podcasting (only 1 episode)
Learned wordpress
Had maddening times with various wordpress plugins and feedburner
Got really frustrated
Was in over my head
Thought I got it working right
Submitted to itunes (have not heard back yet)
Error came up again
Deleted site, feedburner feed, and canceled hosting
Found libsyn
want to try again
Wondering if worth my time or - did I mess it up for myself?

Thanks in advance. I just really want to talk and be heard - not worry about all the plugins/feeds/html/code - and  it seems libsyn is a better match for me.

Thanks!

If you go into iTunes and pull up your listing, simply click on Report A Concern and choose remove podcast.  They sometimes take as much as a week to two weeks to process such requests.

If you feel libsyn will be easiser for you, then go for it.  I still believe using Feedburner would be advisable.

What if you recreate your new feed with the same Feedburner URL? There are ways to then force iTunes to look at a new feed for the same show.
