Over the next month or so, I'm going to re-design the gspn.tv website.

One of the things I want to improve is our show listing pages.  I have some pretty cool ideas for how to lay it all out.

One the things that I would love your input on would be creative ways to "describe" our shows with only one to three sentences.

Here's an example:

Family From The Heart:
Family From The Heart is an entertaining podcast devoted to providing an authentic and unscripted look into the lives of a family in pursuit of a balanced life.

How would you describe some of our other shows?

How's this coming along Cliff? I actually like the current design quite a bit, but I don't know if you're too locked in - I can't tell if it's based on Wordpress or Joomla or something like that, or if you built it from scratch.

And I'm sure you've already considered this, but keep in mind SEO keywords for show descriptions.

And another thing to think about - whY parts of the shows title and description displays in a list on various devices? For example, the initial results page of an iTunes search may only display one line of text. And, on the iPhone, I will often press get more episodes and the end of the episode list, and then page it takes me to rarely shows anything more then the podcast title and episode number.

But, I don't know how many people other than me notice or care about these things.

Lon, I'm with you about the show titles and descriptions on iPhones and iTunes.  Many times I will have listened to a podcast live, but can't tell from the description if I've heard it or not.  This is actually a bigger problem with iTunes.  For example, every description for HIGAM reads "A podcast with the Mac switcher in mind" and there is no information about that particular show.

I would also like to see a separate forum for the Biggest Loser Podcast.

Glad to know I'm not alone in that! I can sort of understand when it comes to iPhones and small screens. But on a computer monitor or iPad, there is room that they just don't use.

And even worse, is the cable box DVR interface. Big screen tv and they can't even fir the whole movie title?

I think a refresh every few months is nice. I wouldn't mind seeing an update to the GSPN PlusMembers site, as that has not been updated for a year at least.

I think it would be neat for you to clean up the right side and have the different areas pop down when you click on their header. If that makes sense. I like the overall color design of the new site, just think the right side is pretty cluttered.

Folks, please note that I browsed the discussion here.  I'm currently still dealing with a large number of projects, a business trip to Boston this weekend, and recovering from hacker's attack on our forum from this weekend.

Please fell free to keept he discussion rolling and know that I will eventually get in here and read and consider all the suggestions you are making about the design of the site.

Blessings!

I see that the option for the sidebar is no longer available on the forum home page.  Maybe I'm in the minority, but I miss it.  Sad  It allowed me to listen to live podcasts and surf the boards at the same time.  Just wanted to get my 2 cents in.

This was unintentional... When I restored the forum from a previous backup, it got rid of that.  I guess that backup was much older than I thought.

To get the sidebar back, just bookmark the following page:
