Normally when you're playing music or podcasts the iPhone shows the album art on the start screen. Lately my iPhone has only been doing this for about half the songs. Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?

Not sure, I've never really paid much attention to the start screen when playing songs. Are you talking about the "Lock" screen when your phone goes to sleep and then you rewake it?

And those songs, do they have the artwork displaying when you play them in the iPod view?

Yes, that's what's so weird. Up until a couple of weeks ago they displayed artwork as well.

Looks like you are not alone.  Someone else wrote...

"This happens to me, too. The only workaround I know of is to shut off the iPhone and turn it on again. It would appear the album art of all the MP3s on the iPhone will appear on the lock screen, but newly-synced files will still have this problem until the next time you shut it off. "

There is an entire discussion here:
