gspn.tv Weekly Round Up 12/24/09
Hi GSPN Fans! Here I am again with the weekly round up for you. I hope those of you that celebrate Christmas have everything ready by now! I am in good shape myself – I have all my shopping done and the presents are all wrapped. I am actually waiting for one last thing to come via the Post Office (insert doom and gloom music here) – it’s the new Super Mario Bros for the Wii – but if it doesn’t come until after Christmas, it’s not a big deal, so no sweat. I don’t have a whole lot of cooking or baking to do; for the first time in 15 years we are spending Christmas at home and it’s just the three of us. I know some people don’t like to to travel on Christmas, but I always liked going to someone’s house on Christmas. But, the way things turned out this year, we are at home. Hopefully it will be fun – in fact, I’ve come up with some ideas to try to make it special, which I will tell you about in a minute…
Right now, here’s what rolled out on the GSPN feed in the last week – go get ‘em while they’re hot:
+ denotes podcast released for Plus Members only
+ Help iGot a Mac 101 – Competition is Good!
+ Social Media Serenity 022 – What is FriendFeed?
Family From the Heart 089 – When Things Fit!
About the Church 099 – Random Christmas Thoughts
+ Business Tech Weekly 015 – Mailing Lists
Pursuing a Balanced Life 446 – My VA Journey – Part 01
In this episode, Cliff shares the first episode of a new series of episodes related to hiring a Virtual Assistant. He’ll be documenting his progress as he learns to let go of control and allow others to help him do the things they can do for him while allowing Cliff to focus his attention on what he does best.
I had to laugh – when I saw this title I thought, “Cliff is going to Virginia??” But actually, this is a very interesting topic to me – as a stay at home Mom who used to be a secretary, this is something I’ve thought of doing myself (being a VA), so I will be listening closely to Cliff’s experience with this to see if it’s something I’d be suited for.
And that’s a wrap for last week!

So, I had some ideas to try to make our Christmas at home fun and special. For breakfast I’m going to make pull apart monkey bread (for the first time – hope it comes out ok!). On Christmas Eve, my Dad is giving us, as a family gift, the Wii – so of course we’ll hook that up and I’m hoping that will provide hours of entertainment. Once we’re ready to shower and get ready for the day, I am surprising my family with new, matching pajamas that I thought we could wear (corny, yes I know). For our meal I am making ham, carrots and our favorite macaroni and cheese recipe (it’s called “Aunt Ella’s”). Then for snacks, the other night we went to a fun grocery store called Stew Leonard’s and splurged on fun things like shrimp and “Pub Mix” and stuff like that. Dessert I’m still unsure of, but I’m headed to the grocery store today and I’ll find something good (I hope).
If any of you have any last minute suggestions of how to make Christmas at home extra fun or special, I’m open to more ideas!
May God Bless you and yours with peace, prosperity and good health over the holidays and in 2010! Merry Christmas, Carole :-)
