Regarding your weight fluctuating throughout the day, that's normal. I used to weigh myself every day for 5 or 6 years, and I'd always do it first thing in the morning after emptying my bladder so I'd have a halfway decent baseline. I didn't care what the actual number was (for the first few years until I replaced my scale I purposely didn't have it zeroed), I just wanted to know if I was over training which would be evident by rapid fluctuations over a period of a few days.
