c8e38031f65eec199840f58896e43538This episode of Pursuing A Balanced Life is all about starting a brand new chapter in my life.

There was a temptation to start this off as a brand new podcast with this as the very first episode of that new podcast.

In my heart I know that, for now, this story is best told here as a larger part of the story that I've shared in this podcast over the past eight and a half years.

Moving forward, I will encourage people to start listening to this podcast starting with this episode. Why? Because this episode is all about the day that I made the decision to start living.

Things mentioned in this episode:
Ken Davis' book “Fully Alive”
The SCORRE Conference
Couch To 5K App
The DAY ONE post I wrote this morning.

    GSPN Anew episode, Yay! :)

  • What a great episode! I’m right there with you. I’ve fallen back into bad habits and have gained back 50 of the 80 lbs I lost in 2010 . I appreciate you sharing your story. Wishing you great success at leading the life you were created to live!

GSPN great episode Cliff! Thank you so much for sharing from your heart and spirit! Looking forward to following your progress!

  • Crystal Foth Thank you Crystal.  Thank you for sharing that I’m not alone as well.  Let’s make the decision to live, the way we were created to live, each day.  Making that decision one day at a time. :)

  • One day at a time and one moment at a time too! The comment below was mine too – on twitter – not sure how it ended up here.. ;) thanks for the reply!

  • I just moved over to a new comment system. So anything older than today may look a little funny. ;)

You asked in a recent Podcast Answerman what your audience envisioned you doing next. I didn’t respond because I, frankly, had no clue either. But after listening to this episode it’s clear that you are on the right track. I look forward to listening to your journey.

What I love about this show in particular is how “REAL” you are…how open and honest you are. You let us see you stumble. That helps me so much to realize that I’m not the only “stumbler” (is that a word?) in the world.

I also love the idea of focusing on your purpose and not the particular number of steps or whatever. Perhaps the data and stats will find their place in your future…but I can see how the focus on God’s purpose for you life and health makes the most sense. That was a big aha moment for me.

    Kudos Cliff.

  • Thank you so much Lourdes. I do believe that this past week has given me a glimpse into what the future might have in store for me. I’m not clear on exactly how it will all work out as far as branding and such. However, like you said, I do feel that I’m on the right track.

I’m so thankful to have you join me on this journey.

Hi Cliff, I’m in the middle of your podcast, and listening to you is like listening to my own life. I had different excuses, but the result is the same. Mine started in 2010, lost 47 lbs, and was successful for about 2 years before things started to go down. After seeing Fat, Sick, and Nearly dead this February I went back on track again, and now I’m only 17 lbs more than I was when I was the lightest. The Holidays are coming, and I caught myself to “cheat” hear and there, so it was the best timing for your podcast! I downloaded the book on my kindle, and can’t wait to read it! We joined the gym 2 weeks ago, but didn’t feel to inspired to go (only went once), but I know I will have to get over myself and start going regularly. I can’t wait to hear about your journey, I’m looking forward to the sweaty pictures, with the HOT woman on your side! :)))) I’m @katisquilting on Twitter, just so you know :) Good luck to you!
