Recently, I received the following in an email…

I just found your podcast and subscribed and started to listening to the Jan 6 ep of family from the heart and I really enjoyed it. As you and your wife were talking about the year of providence and especially how you are seeking counsel for something that you are working on. It struck me that I haven't been seeking the Lord and his counsel and the counsel of others. Let me explain.

I have a desire to do a daily devotional time. But I can't seem to stick with it unless I'm doing it for a grade or something and I feel a desire to read through the Bible again. So I have been thinking how can I do something that will give me motivation to stick with it at least for a year and the only thing I came up with was to do a daily read through the Bible Couples podcast with my wife. I just started listening to podcast about a year ago and though tec savy have never produced a podcast. I have some of the details already worked out format for example will be 5 min intro, Bible Reading, then discussion on those chapters between me and my wife and possibly a guest host, then 5 min closing.

What do you think should I pursue the idea? or should I find another way to motivate me to read? If so would you say a quick prayer for me that I will be able to find the time and that the one last hurdle will be overcome?

In this episode, I give my response to this person’s email, sharing my own journey of how I recently came back into the habit of making time alone with God a priority on a daily basis.

I shared a verse from the New Living Translation where Matthew 6:33 says… “Seek the Kingdom of God[a] above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”

In the episode, I did mention the following episodes of the Pursuing A Balanced Life Podcast.
