in Podcast Answer Man

I received a very interesting email this week:
The email was from Connie & Sheila from Connie & Sheila Talk. They sent a promotional email and THIS PDF to notify their audience of an important upcoming episode of their podcast.

Video Blog Post demonstrates MP3 Tagging:
On of the most common mistakes made by new podcasting is the process of tagging their .mp3 files. I created a video blog to show how this process works. http://podcastanswerman.com/tagging

Jason Van Orden – Traffic Attraction Formula:
In this episode, I played a 20 minute interview with Jason Van Orden of Internet Business Mastery. Jason is launching a major training product that helps people learn how to build a profitable online business. Here is the email I sent out to my mailing list: http://eepurl.com/blUBn

If you want to check out the videos that Jason is giving away for free, the ones I go on and on about in this video, you can get them by clicking this link: http://PodcastAnswerMan.com/taf

Yes, the above link is an affiliate link. Should you decide to sign up for his training product, I will receive a commission. There is absolutely NO OBLIGATION to sign up for anything other than his mailing list. After you get the free videos, it's a single click unsubscribe to get off the list.

An email from a disappointed email subscriber:
After sending out a note about the above program on my mailing list. About four people immediately unsubscribed from my mailing list and one person, whom I thought I was pretty close to, sent me the following email:

You said that you wouldn't use the email list to spam us, but to let us know about Podcast Answer Man related stuff. While this isn't spam per se, it might as well be, because if I give up my email address, I will undoubtedly get “opt in spam” from Jason. I know because I have been down this road with his promises before. It is probably some thousand dollar program that if you follow step by step you MAY make what he does, but results are not guaranteed. As an added bonus, the “free videos” are followed by letters just like this one to entice me to buy into someone else's thousand dollar must have marketing plan that he “personally endorses”.

Needless to say, I'm disappointed to get this type of message from you. I clicked through and saw the site, I hope the affilliate click thru was worth losing a subscriber to your mailing list.

I share my response in this episode of the podcast. Not everyone had a negative reaction to my email about this. The following are some Twitter Reactions to my linked post to the email I sent out:

@HandGPodcast: The guys at IBM rock – RT @gspn: Serious about marketing your business online? Check this out… http://eepurl.com/blUBn

@podcastlawyer: @GSPN Watched JVO's video on your recommendation. Good stuff. Got me excited for the next one. I almost can't wait for the sales pitch :)

My Listeners Are So Spoiled:
I just received the following email…

Cliff, I was recently listening to the latest episode of a podcast that was actually the one that got me interested in Podcasting. During the episode, the host **** was trying out his new Snowball Microphone (1st Mistake), then spoke about how all they need is an old pair of Nylons for a Pop Filter (He wasn't sure what to call it.)

They continued from there but between this episode of theirs and a previous one, I now find myself yelling into the speakers what they should be doing, all based on what I have learned from you – Obi-Wan-Ravenscraft.

The show and episode if you're curious for yourself is (I removed this part of the email).

I am not sure whether to thank you or be upset – after all – I am now SOOOOO critical of what I USED to think was good. Seriously though, Cliff A BIG THANK YOU!

Interviewed by Dean Soto of the So Totally Business Savvy Podcast:
Dean is a client of mine who made a decent investment in audio equipment for his podcast and has taken that investment and made something of it. Today, his podcast is generating opportunities and profits for his business that would have not existed otherwise. I was honored to be invited as a guest for episode 014 of his podcast.

Passive Income Strategy For Podcasters Webinar:
Only 2 spots remain for the Passive Income Strategy For Podcasters webinar. The event is this Saturday, October 23rd from 11am to 1pm Eastern Time. You do not want to miss the learning experience. I know for a fact that my profits are going to increase drastically as the results of what I will learn during this session. How do I know that? I know because I’ve seen the outline for the session and the two or three things that I have done from the list have already doubled the income to my business. If you want to try to get one of these remaining spots, CLICK HERE TO RSVP!

Thesis Theme Configuration Webinar:
In this webinar, I'm going to show you, step by step, how I take a brand new installation of WordPress and turn it into a site that looks like PodcastAnswerMan.com or VirtualAssistantPodcast.com. As the name of this webinar may imply, I will be showing you how I do this using the Thesis Premium WordPress Theme.

This webinar will be an experiment for me. This is the first time I've ever offered a webinar at as low as $39. I've decided to give GoToWebinar a try which allows up to 100 participants.

I plan to take my experience from the number of people who register for this even into consideration for future training webinars and products.

The session will be held on Saturday, November 6th from 10-11:30am Eastern Time. CLICK HERE TO RSVP!
