In this episode, I share a few things that have been on my mind as it relates to my business and overall podcasting endeavors. I share that I’m getting ready to end the the Virtual Assistant Podcast next week and that I have initial ideas of starting a new podcast devoted to the inner workings of starting your own business.
Of course, I also spend some time answering your questions. In fact, the following are some of the questions I covered in this episode.
– Chris called to ask if I had some advice on a mic that would be good enough for someone to use as a called in Skype Interview. I suggested that he use just about any Logitech USB Headset that you can find on Amazon. Here’s an affiliate link: http://amzn.to/gqwBiQ
– Richard called in to ask why I speak on my podcast as if I were talking on a live radio show. He suggested that since podcasts are “time shifted” and many people listen to me days, weeks, months, or even years after I recorded my show, that it doesn’t make sense for me to share time sensitive announcements about something that I have going on “this weekend.” I share why I disagree with this idea and why I have a very good reason for doing this on this podcast and a few of my other shows.
– Merideth called in about a specific issue that she’s been having with feedburner working with her WordPress installation. I share some thoughts the best I can without seeing what is going on with my own eyes to diagnose the problem. I also comment on the awesome sound of her feedback recording on an Edirol Digital Audio Recorder. Affiliate link: https://gspn.tv/edirolamazon
– Katie Davis called in to ask if I had any thoughts on SoundBooth editing software since Adobe Audtion is so much more expensive. I share that I’ve never looked at SoundBooth before. However, I also share how it is possible for “many” people to be eligible to purchase Adobe Audition at only $150 from the following link: http://www.academicsuperstore.com/products/Adobe/Audition
-I also mention that I love to be interviewed, about my thoughts on podcasting, on other people’s shows. I’d never ask anyone directly if they would interview me, and I don’t like to be asked directly for me to interview someone on my show. However, I do so enjoy being interviewed on other people’s shows, and I thank Katie Davis for inviting me on to her podcast this week. Here’s the link to the interview she did with me. http://goo.gl/9kUJW
That’s it for me this week! I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!
