Last night was the Cell Multiplication Celebration for the Ravenscraft/Savchick cell group. We met at the home of Dave & Angie Bleier and had a very good lasanga dinner. After dinner, we had a time of Worship and we passed my camera around the circle for everyone to take a snapshot of the evening. Next we did communion in a slightly different way that I believe had a impact on each of us and gave greater insight of what Jesus meant when He said, “I am the lamb” and “This is my blood.” To those who were took part in our communion last night, those two phrases have very deep meaning now. After communion, we moved into the kitchen where we all gave a prepared testimony as to what cell life has meant to us. My testimony is available on my blog. We then prayed blessings upon Chris and Beth Savchick as the new leaders of the cell and Dave and Angie Bleier as the new interns of the cell.
So the new Savchick cell group will start out with Chris & Beth Savchick, Dave & Angie Bleier, Matt & Melissa Hagen, and Ed & Lisa Murphy. They already have an invitation open to Tina Taylor, a single girl who had been doing our childcare up till last night.
Stephanie and I are taking Travis and Denise Blaney with us and we are integrating into the Donna Baker Cell Group on Tuesday Nights. Stephanie and I have already been to this cell a few weeks now and are already feeling like we are a part of that new family. I'm looking forward to Travis coming so that I wont be the only guy in the group.
I'm really excited about what God is going to do as a result of this multiplication. I have grown over the years in my understanding of relationships and I find that many of the relationships that I have with folks who end up going to “the other” cell in a multiplication are actually strengthened as a result of not seeing each other on a weekly basis. It's been a long time since I've been in a cell group with Patrick Lewis, Charlie Pond, David Dummitt, Rob Hanak, Dave Jamieson, and many others. However, I am still very close to these individuals and their families.
I thank God for the vision of multiplication as it always allows for more room in our living rooms to invite more people to become a part of our growing Christian family!
I have several pictures from last night's multiplication. Feel free to check out my PHOTO GALLERY. I've set it up as a slide show and you can click on any image to get a larger view.
