Welcome To The Balanced Living Weekly Podcast

The Balanced Living Weekly Podcast was a show that I, Cliff, produced with Fr. Roderick Vonhogen from SQPN. The show originally started out as the Biggest Loser Fan Podcast. However, when the tv show would end its season, we wanted to continue our show.

Eventually, we decided to rebrand the show as the Balanced Living Weekly Podcast. In January of 2012, Fr. Roderick and I both decided that we were going to practice what we preach by rearranging out schedule to increase the level of margin in our lives. It is for this reason that we made the decision to end show.

Not just the TV series, not just about weight loss.. it’s a motivational show, that wants to help you stay on target so you can reach the important goals in your life: a healthy weight, less stress, healthy food, fitness.. we also share related topics, like how to be more productive.

Cliff’s Week At The Gym:
Last week, I made it my goal to start getting back into my intentional physical activity. The weekend was difficult because Stephanie was away for the weekend and I had all three children to care for. This is more of an excuse than anything. Looking back, I can think of several things that I could have done and involved the kids in physical activity with me.

I had decided that I wanted to start going to the gym early in the morning, before I start my work day. I put on my calender hoping it would all work out. Monday came around and I slept in until about 8am and didn’t go to the gym. However, I did go to the gym about 6pm Monday evening for an hour.

Tuesday came around and I, once again, slept in until about 8am. However, I actually had a 90 minute break in between consulting calls and I ended up going to the gym at 2pm and running a 5K on the treadmill.

As I am typing the pre-show show notes, it is Wednesday, October 13th and I woke up at 6:15am, I weighed in, had a very light breakfast, and I’m heading out the door to the gym.

Just as a side note, my weigh in was not good. The past few weigh ins, I’ve seen increases on the scale. I’m now up to 223 and I had made it as low as 212. It’s been a very slow climb back up and I know it’s my lack of daily physical activity and the fact that I stopped counting calories. I’m headed back to the gym and I’m back to counting calories. I hope to have a very good update next week.

Biggest Loser Podcast

In this episode, I do the show solo. While I was correct in that Fr. Roderick had decided to take the rest of the week off from podcasting, this was not the reason he did not show up for today's recording. What happened was that Fr. Roderick thought that we had agreed to do a show next Friday since we already did a show this week for the Biggest Loser Podcast.

Oh well.. Here is my attempt to fly solo today, giving my thoughts on the finale of season 9 and getting caught up to date with some of the community feedback that has come in. Enjoy!
