Interview With Noah Shanok, CEO of Stitcher Radio
One of my favorite benefits of the iPhone and the others smart phones that followed them is that they have made it increasingly easier for “normal people” to consume podcast content. Today there are many “apps” that allow to manage and even subscribe to your favorite podcasts right from your phone, without the need to connect any cables to your computer.

Stitcher Radio is a company that has such an application. However, they've taken everything a step further when it comes to making it easier for those “normal people” to consume our podcast content. They've worked out deals with major car manufacturers to get their application, and our podcast content, installed into the factory car stereos of the future.

In this episode, I'm delighted to share a 45 minute interview with the CEO of Stitcher Radio, Noah Shanok. Here is a list of the questions that I asked Noah:

01. When, how, and why did Stitcher Radio get started?
02. How does Stitcher separates itself from apps like Downcast that allow users to create their own channels for podcasts?
03. Do you have any guidelines when it comes to the shows that you do add to your directory?
04. What car manufacturers are including radio systems in their cars that include or allow for the use of Stitcher Radio today?
05. How does that work? Do they have to install an app or does it come built into the radio?
06. How does your affiliate program work?
07. Do you have a plan for advertising and shared revenu in the future?
08. Is there any way to determine how your show ranks among other shows on Stitcher?
09. What's the process for getting on your “Top Pick” that you send out to your mailing list?
10. Tough question about re-compressing already compressed files.
11. Do you have custom Stitcher Radio Shows?
12. What are you working for the future of Stitcher Radio?

How Do You Manage Multiple Brands?
I devoted the first twenty minutes of this episode to a question that came in from Spencer from the Video Snapcast. Spencer shared that he was considering the launch of a second show, or another brand, that has absolutely nothing to do with his current podcast devoted to video tips. His question was about to provide consistency of his personal brand as the creator of two totally different brands.

The great thing is that I have quite a bit of experience with managing multiple brands and even multiple different podcasts that focus on various different topics and passions that I have.

In response to Spencer, I share some of my recent thoughts on developing a “personal brand” and even creating a personal mission statement.

In my response, I also share my own personal mission statement. Take a look at my personal mission statement, listed below, and you'll be able to see how this clearly fits into all the projects, shows, brands that I've ever put my hands to.

My mission is to dedicate my life to Entertaining, Educating, Encouraging, and Inspiring Others! To share my passions and experiences in life in an authentic and transparent way that inspires others to make positive changes in their lives. I want to be known as a follower of Jesus who authentically attempts to live out my faith (though I may fail miserably at times) in a way that engages popular culture without turning others off. I want to always be prepared to give a reason for the hope that I have and to be ready to do so with gentleness and respect.

Podcast Artwork for $175
Most podcasters do not invest enough into the artwork for their podcast. The truth is that your podcast artwork is often what sets the 1st impression for your podcast. This is especially true when it comes to those who find your show in a podcast directory.

I've been working with Jenny Hamson for several years and she does all my podcast artwork. I've also personally contracted her to do the artwork for all of my coaching and consulting clients. In all the years that I have worked with Jenny, she's never failed to provide artwork that not only meets expectations but delivers far more than could have been anticipated. If you are looking for artwork, please contact Jenny Hamson today and tell her that Cliff sent you!
