624 PABL – What Do I Want My Life To Look Like In 10 to 20 Years?

in The Old Pursing A Balanced Life Podcast

Every now and then, I record an episode of Pursuing A Balanced Life that I'm just a bit apprehensive about publishing. Episode 624 is one of those episodes.

After reading the “The One Thing,” I made it a goal to answer several important questions to gain clarity about what direction I want to go with my life, moving forward. The questions were…

1) How much money do I want to be earning in 10 to 20 years from now?

2) What do I want my life to look like (what will I be doing) in 10 to 20 years from now?

3) What do I want to be known for?

4) What is it that drives me to do what I do?

Last week, I wrote my answers to these questions on my giant whiteboard. These answers are made up of thoughts and and feelings that have been stirring around in my heart for the past few years. It felt really good to actually commit to writing these things down.

However, after I sat behind a microphone and shared these answers in a podcast episode, I must admit that I have questioned the thought of daring to dream such big dreams.

I've heard it reported that Oprah Winfrey has said… “I was once afraid of people saying, “Who does she think she is?” Now I have the courage to stand and say, “This is who I am.”

One thing is for certain, I do feel called to dream bigger dreams and these are the dreams that keep reoccurring in my heart and mind. Also, I am confident that I feel called to share what I recorded in this episode with the world.

So if you are interested, you can hear the wild and crazy dreams that I have for what I want my life to look like, in 10 to 20 years from now, by listening to episode 624 of Pursuing A Balanced Life.

  • Derek, Thank you so much brother! I am thrilled that you enjoyed this episode. :) I saw your FB post the other day. I do plan to respond to it when I get some free time and I happen to be looking at my FB inbox. Just a note, though. Emails are a priority for me. Sending me an email will often get a response weeks, and at times months, before a Facebook message. ;) Thanks again for the encouraging feedback!
