Dealing With Negative Feedback
It’s been a long time since I last covered the topic of dealing with negative feedback. Earlier this week, I was listening to the Jillian Michaels Show and she had an episode titled Haters Are Gonna Hate.
Thanks for revisiting the topic of criticism, and using one of my favorite podcasts as an example. As far as Janice and Jillian Michaels are concerned, I have heard them both derail the podcast with "silly" comments, rude noises, etc. For many of the early episodes, I didn't think they were taking podcasting seriously enough, as I also thought about the early episodes of the Official ABC Lost Podcast, when they didn't even have good audio. Anyway, after a while Jillian and Janice got back into their "radio show" groove, which is of course where they met, and the banter is one of the perks of podcasting compared to traditional radio. They have the freedom to say what they want. Most podcasts go "down the rabbit hole" from time to time, and that's OK.
On another note, there are several health/fitness podcasts which feature a U.S. and Canadian host, and Janice is Canadian. I am a Canadian guy hoping to get on a health/fitness podcast someday, so I guess that's inspiration. :-)
